Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana: When a girl is to be married in India, regardless of the father’s financial status, wrangling with the expenses of the impending marriage remains one constant worry. Under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, each eligible woman will receive a total of ₹51,000 from the amount of support. This amount is directly given in three different parts.
The three parts are distributed as follows
₹35,000 would be disbursed as Direct Financial Assistance – this will be directly transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account to cover major expenses around marriage.
- ₹10,000 of marriage gifts-In basic items such as Saree, Bangles, Bindis, Payal, Bichiya, utensils, and every other necessity from a bride’s inventory.
- ₹6,000 for marriage arrangement costs, which will cover the minor expenses of the arrangement of the wedding celebrations like tentage, decoration, and basic arrangements.
- The aim of the state government is to ensure that poor families undergo not any undue strain in preparing for a wedding.
